I created this project for a contest to celebrate the centennial of Violeta Parra, one of the most important and gifted multidisciplinary artists in Latin America.
The call for entry called for the creation of a tribute poster and I came up with a few ideas. I wanted to do something tactile to use the essence of the multidisciplinary art of the artist.

I decided to show a sample of my process for creating. I always try my best to have different approaches for each creative challenge I face.
I like to experiment with different media before marrying an idea, regardless of how long it takes.
The idea for this poster started with markers, then I tried painting, then embroidery, printmaking, and finally went to Illustrator, and vectorized my hand written words.
